My story
Hi, I'm Stacey.
I'm a maker, a dreamer, a collector of hobbies, and someone who believes that wonder deserves a place in everyday life.
For as long as I can remember, I've been drawn to creativity. Art, photography, pottery, painting, paper-making, bookbinding, DIY projects—if it involves making something with my hands, chances are I've wanted to try it. Not because I'm searching for perfection, but because creating gives me something I struggle to find anywhere else.
Presence.
When I'm making something, the noise quiets. The endless lists, responsibilities, self-doubt, and distractions fade into the background. My hands take over, my mind becomes still, and for a little while I am completely immersed in the process. Creating takes me out of my head and back into my body. It feels like meditation. It feels like joy. It feels like coming home.
I grew up captivated by stories, folklore, mythology, and magical worlds where anything seemed possible. I lost myself in fairy tales, and carried that sense of wonder with me long after childhood. Somewhere along the way, life became practical. Work, routines, responsibilities, laundry, deadlines, and all the ordinary demands of adulthood slowly crowded out the parts of me that felt most alive.
I didn't realise how much I missed them until I found bookbinding.
After seeing a maker sharing their work online, I signed up for a workshop. I spent the day learning alongside a room full of wonderful women, folding paper, stitching pages, and creating something entirely by hand. What I expected to be a fun day became something much more meaningful.
I wasn't simply learning a craft.
I was finding my way back to myself.
Wyrlaith was born from that rediscovery.
It began as a desire to reclaim the wonder I felt I had lost. Around the same time, I became captivated by storytelling in all its forms—the way a song, a story, a book, or a handmade object can transport you somewhere else entirely. I wanted to create that feeling for myself while I was making, and for others when they received what I'd made.
That desire became Wyrlaith.
A place where creativity, craftsmanship, imagination, intuition, ritual, belonging, and beauty are woven together into something tangible.
Every journal, candle, and handmade piece that leaves my hands is created with intention. Not simply to be owned, but to be experienced. I want people to run their fingers across the paper, notice the texture, breathe in the scent, and feel the care that went into creating it.
I want them to pause.
I want them to feel inspired.
I want them to remember that beautiful things still matter.
More than anything, I want them to feel loved.
Because every piece begins with that intention.
To create something meaningful for another human being.
Wyrlaith exists because creating helped me find my way back to myself.
My hope is that, in some small way, it helps you find your way back to yourself too.
Welcome to Wyrlaith.
I'm so glad you found your way here.
